"Baptism class" or "God God?" class
My pastor is asking me to form a "confirmation" class type thing for students to be baptized. I want to use curriculum...BUT I hate WATERED down stuff which is why I'm back to square one.
Anyone know a short 4-6 week study that goes through the Christian faith?

Theologically, I agree with Rooster. I grew up Baptist and am now serving in a Methodist church so we do Confirmation. I agree with Luke 99/100 times, but this would be the exception. The age group you are dealing with is probably early jr. high (6th-7th grade)right? If not, scrap this answer. But students at that age are just developing the cognitive skills to think abstractly. That's why I enjoy teaching high schoolers more than jr. high. So I would think Grudem (whose book I studied in seminary and now have) would be too deep. Maybe start with a good Christian doctrine book. If you're Baptist, Millard Erickson's Christian Doctrine might be a little more workable format. Either way you'll prob have to write something yourself. |

We're working on the same thing and running into the same problems. It will most likely be a combination of different resources that serves you the best. |

I haven't ever done a confirmation class before but I was looking into doing at one point. Tim Schmoyer uses this curriculum and I was pretty interested in it. Follow the link and see if it is what you are looking for.http://www.covchurch.org/formation/journey-dc |
