Books
I'm a sophomore and I have felt the call to youth ministry. I know it starts now, and am looking for a list of good books to read to get me started. Any ideas?

God bless you on sensing that call and following God into it! There are a lot of good books out there - a lot of good directions to take. Some of my favorites are Revisiting Relational Youth Ministry by Andrew Root, Hurt by Chap Clark, Sticky Faith by Chap Clark & Kara Powell, Youth Ministry 3.0 by Mark Destreicher... Another idea, talk to your youth pastor or someone else who can mentor you. Maybe they can take you through some books and give you more personal guidance along the way? Again, God bless! Keep trusting & following Him! Thank you so much for the advice! I actually purchased Sticky Faith a few weeks back me plan to read it soon! Really anything by Chap Clark, Kara Powell or Andrew Root would be good. And take a look at books done by Group or Youth Specialties. They're both organizations that specialize in youth ministry and training youth leaders. |
