Creative way to display pictures
This fall we will open up a new youth space in the basement of a house our church bought to use as offices.
We've decided to use pictures from past events as the main form of decoration. We love the idea of telling the story of our group and what we're about just by what you see around the room.
Anyway, I'm looking for creative ways to display pictures around the room. What have you done? How has it worked out for you?

I love this idea! I've done a couple different things. Your first option is to play with a look; play w/different effects, colors, black & white, etc. Then there are a ton of options. I was once in a room with acoustic issues, so I printed the pics on a large format print 5x3' on printing cloth, and wrapped them around wooden frames stuffed with insulation. They were b&w and we put them on the purple balcony wall. It looked sick! I've also made a collage on photoshop, made b&w and put a gradient over. Also, if you have space, hanging them at different heights and distances off the wall, or used as partitions on foamboard is nice. Wrapping around poles, creating a wall mosaic, framing in lightboxes, using as ceiling tiles, all great options!

I say put a bunch of cardboard boxes on the wall as a base and hang the pictures on them. Or you could just start with a wall at the top and come straight down making wall paper out of the pics. It'd be kindof a long term project and you could push the youth to bring pics as well (i'd look at them first tho) to fill it up faster. |

This is more low-tech than carson, but I printed up a bunch of the great shots from the last couple of years of ministry. Some I got in regular 4x6 snapshots and put in collage frames. Some of the great shots that were of groups, though, I got printed up in a 16x20" poster. You can order these at the photo kiosk at Walmart. It takes about a week for them to come in. Walmart also sells the 16x20" photo frames that fit them perfectly. All of our walls are bold colors, so the pictures really stand out. The pic below is of one picture on a yellow wall. My to-do list has more pictures I need to get done in the same way. |

If you've got a projector or large video screen, check out animoto. It's a great way to dump in a bunch of pictures and get a really slick looking presentation out of it. Link Details: 1 year ago
