Do you have a youth prayer room?
We are teaching on spiritual disciplines this semester on Sun. mornings (Beneath the Surface by Inquest). I am trying to provide more than just a one hour teaching time that will probably be forgotten by lunch on Sundays by making resources available for our kids to practice the disciplines (using some of Doug Fields Habits Production Pack and some of our own stuff) and really encouraging them to use those resources. We printed prayer journals when we taught on prayer, but I also have been working on one of our unused rooms in the youth area to make it a prayer room specifically for our youth and teachers. I don't want it to look like a senior adult prayer parlor, but I do want it to be a meaningful and safe place for our youth. Any ideas?

The last two churches I have been at have had a prayer room / chapel but they weren't youth specific either. |

Our church has a prayer room, but it's not specific for just teens. Adults use it every Sunday and it's staffed with "prayer partners" who will pray with you if you want. |

I've never had a separate room for prayer, but it sounds like an awesome idea. Our church has a prayer chapel that is open for everyone. We have comfortable chairs, soft lighting, candles, bibles, everything to give it a comfortable feel. |
