Our ministry meets on Tuesdays (an off night) for some pretty important reasons:

1) We don't compete for space. We can use any part of the building we need. And likewise other ministries can use our youth center on Wednesdays.
2) We don't compete for kids. Students from other churches can attend our program, and our kids can go elsewhere on Wed. if they want to.
3) We don't compete for volunteers (as much). Our volunteers can still choose to be involved in the adult prayer meeting or the choir ministry as well as with youth.

The main drawback for us is transportation. However, looking at the facts, doing a Wed. night meeting wouldn't improve our attendance. The parents who won't bring their kids Tues don't come themselves on Wed.

Not being in America the whole Wednesday night thing is really foreign to me.

Our youth meets Friday nights and is primarily outreach.

The adults meet at various time during the week for small groups (there is no set midweek corporate teaching time) A lot of our crew don't come from church families anyway.

On Sundays the morning is typically a families service and the teens leave after the first few songs and we have a quick talk with small groups then just hang out till church ends. When they get to yr 8 or 9 they often come along to our evening service which doesn’t have kids stuff running and mostly has youth young adults and parents of teens.

I'm not sure if telling you that helps in anyway, but I know its different.

on Sunday mornings we have it set up for different classes 6th, 7th and 8th and then one large class for high school. On sunday Nights we have a worship service from 6pm-7pm for students that is sandwiched by our middle school discipleship groups at 5pm and high school discipleship groups at 7pm. On tuesdays and Wednesdays we have localized home groups that use the fish model to empower students to share the gospel with their friends. We used to do a big wednesday program, however the culture where we are for some reason did not work.

meet during Wed. night, which also has the middle school group meeting and an all church prayer meeting. Challenges of this is that there is limited availability for some areas of the church to be used. Also noise and sound is sometimes an issue (because we are too loud or others are too loud and negatively impacts our ministry time). Flexibility has been the key to 'keep the peace' with the other ministry groups, but some challenges still remain.

We have a Sunday morning worship time that separates Junior High and High School.

On Wednesday we have a student-led worship/prayer time but our adults don't meet as a group. We have a church prayer time and small groups.

Also, we have student small groups that mostly meet Sunday nights but have a few that meet during the week as well.

Hope this helps!

We also meet on Wednesday night while our adults are in a Mid-Week Prayer Service & Bible Study. We are very limited on noise restrictions as well. I would like to see us start another night of the week for outreach purposes where restrictions would be no issue-but keep the Wednesday night as a growth tool for the teens.

Our Sr High meets on an off night. Our Jr High meets on Wednesday night when many of our small groups and our children's ministry is meeting.

My home church recently moved all the youth events (Jr. High & Sr. High) to Sunday nights. Children's ministry (Pioneers) is on Wednesdays, with small group/Bible studies on 1 other night every other week.

Having all the youth min events on Sundays make for very long days, but opens the week up for more informal yet relational time with the students.

Wednesday is a church night? I guess I never knew. The positive to meeting on the same night is parents are already coming out so you don't have to worry about them forgetting or arranging the transportation.
The negatives, are; workers being involved in other ministries, expectations, space limitations and noise limitations.
I am going to guess that if your church is running Wednesday night adult services they are not going to be open to having you change the night. As to the time thing to me it only makes since to end at a consistent time to help parents with when they should be picking up students, if they adult "service" isn't ending at a consistent time you should talk vision with sp ministry is not babysitting while adults worship.
