I know that Tim actually just wrote a good article about this: http://www.youthworker.com/youth-ministry- resources-ideas/youth-ministry/11640886/page-1/

I know some ministries use youth tracker software to keep track of student attendance. We add our kids to our churches database program. Kids never check email, but they check their Facebook messages. We also have a FB like page for our group. I don't use Twitter with my youth because only 4% of Twitters users are ages 13 to 17. I'm behind the tech curve, but I use movie maker to make announcements on video rather than talking, plus I can upload them to youtube and have them up for any length of time.

The possibilities are endless. Twitter can be used to update students in real time via cell phone. Facebook groups and events can help to unite kids around the "thing" your doing. There are a host of apps that you can use to improve your day to day work (focusboosterapp.com, selfcontrol for mac, macfreedom.com for pc, actionmethod.com, google docs, skype for chat, wikis for group collaboration, ustream). You can use RealPlayer or YouTubeDownloader to grab video clips for sermon illustrations or for a quick laugh. Wix.com offers easy to use website design tools for free online. SXC.hu has a host of free stock images for use in flyers, powerpoint, postcards, ads, etc. DaFont.com offers thousands of free fonts for download. Out of room...

Our group is actually just starting to incorporate technology, but it's mostly to make it more "fun" as opposed to easier. We're compiling music videos and concert clips to play on a TV as kids filter in (so they are exposed to different kinds of Christian music), we're hoping to get a gaming system the kids can play with as a group (like the Wii), and we're trying to make videos of activities we've done to exite kids for future events.
