How do I help my youth understand and work throw the transition?
In a chain of events over the last few months our youth minister resign this evening, and expectantly so did our pastor. Our group had just began to come together after years of distrust, now this.

Not an easy answer to this one. Wish there was. I would hold forth God and his word to the students. Have them see that God can and is still working even in the transition. Help them see that no matter who or what happens God is still there for them.

Youth ministries are not about the youth minister or the pastor. It's about the people of the church getting involved with the youth program (under the leadership of the youth minister if that person is available). By not having a youth min. you have a great opportunity for the church to be the church to those kids. Keep meeting at the same time and see about getting parents or volunteers to carry on the teaching and maybe get someone else to plan some games, and if you have worship people in your church, let them lead the students in worship. Also, it's a great time to get the students involved in the leadership of the program-announcements, even Bible studies. |

Focusing on the fact that their faith in grounded in God and not in the youth pastor or senior pastor is crucial. |
