How do we get both full time and part time youth leaders involved in our youth ministry network?
We have a solid core of full time and part time pastors who are committed to coming together for 2-3 events a year across denom. lines to build unity among the teen members of the body of Christ in our town. We meet once a month. As long as I've been around, we've met during the mid morning because or FT guys didn't want another evening meeting to take up their time. In an effort to get more PT guys involved, we started doing an evening meeting with the intent that the FT guys who were available could come and share with the PT more of the vision of the upcoming events. That fizzled quickly. Now I feel the PT are on the outside looking in with the FT yth leaders making all the decisions. Have U dealt with this in your networks?Suggestions?

In the ministerial I'm part of, I am the only Part time guy, while the other three are full time. We've had other part time guys in the past, but it always comes down to a question of priority. If the full time and part time guys both see the need for meeting together, then they'll make the effort to come. |
