How do you deal with special needs kids when you do not have enough to make a special needs ministry but you do have enough that it is disruptive to your service.
I have a child that bites and hits, speaks 0 understandable words and is big enough to where he is starting to be more then my teachers can handle.

You need to talk to the parents and ask what they need to best accommodate them. It may have to be a different volunteer all together just to watch them. Parents of special needs kids should already know what their child needs. As a heads up my fiance worked with special needs children before and formed a relationship with the parents...they constantly mention how it's hard for them to go to church because of that. I really hope these parents remain! |
