How to tell my pastor...I'm not happy...
I have a meeting with my pastor in a few hours. In the past three years I've been working at the church...I've been part time (15k a year). I've quit my other part time job to dedicate my time to the students...and then I got it back because I was going in debt...then finally moved home and quit my part time so that I can concentrate on the ministry.
I seriously dedicate my life to this church and they do love me...but I feel like I deserve more or there's other opportunities for me. The church isn't in a position to put me full time...but I am 25 and ready to be married and have been waiting patiently for a while.
What's the best way to express this? How do I naturally transition to this when I walk into the office?

If your pastor has a clue, he should know that you've quit your other job to be more dedicated to the church. He also should realize that you can't move forward with your life only working at the church. Unless he is totally oblivious, he should be open to hearing your frustration. Do you have any other job leads (ministry or otherwise)? He may be thinking you want to resign soon. Be careful because you don't want to force your own resignation without having something lined up. I was ridiculously underpaid at my first p/t church job and it came down to me saying I've either got to go full-time or go somewhere else. God bless you in this difficult transition. |

paint yourself green and say "you won't like me when I'm angry". |
