I received an iPad as a gift, and want to use it with our youth group, but have no idea how.
It is an iPad 2, and I have a VGA adapter and tv. I have nearly no experience with PowerPoint. I would love to add some slides or backgrounds and maybe music to our meetings. We are a small group, about 8-15 range so the tv we have with the VGA input should be big enough. Does anyone know of any apps that I can get to help me build slides? Or great ministry suggestions for using this tool that I am blessed with, besides angry birds?

Keynote for presentations. There are other presentation apps that convert your ppt to pdf. So if you don't have any actions or movies in your slideshow, the alternatives to keynote would work. I teach from my iPad sometimes. I have my notes in Pages or in another note app. Of course, it's nice to have a Bible on there. My iPad is jailbroken so I can display anything on my iPad to the screen--i.e., scripture in my bible apps and other things. I should mention I have an original iPad. Hopefully iPad 2 will be jailbroken soon to allow for displayout of everything. |

There are many great uses for using the iPad in ministry. I'm compiling a new website to share these ways at www.ipadinministry.com |

I agree with 212shane. There are so many different ways to use that for ministry related purposes. Once you get it set up with keynote you can use it to create your slides/backgrounds and then wirelessly control them. You could also use the iPod part for all of your music needs. You might also consider going green and using it for your sermon notes, small group discussion questions, etc. It could become your eReader for all of your research and studying for messages and lessons. The options are limitless! Congrats on awesome gift! I'm hoping to get one one day. |

Get Keynote & iMovie. Also, I just discovered Videoliscious...very easy way to make videos from pictures, especially for posting to Facebook. There's plenty more, but that's a start. |
