Sad after accepting Christ?
So this is the second time I heard this...this past Sunday we did an alter call and students responded! Great!
Then I get a text from a student that after he prayed that he was sad. I actually heard this from another student 6 months ago as well...what do you think is happening? Spiritual warfare? What?
Edit: lol what have I been preaching that's funny. I say like this prayer isn't your golden ticket to heaven but it's a statement to Christ that you want to turn from your ways, doesn't promise that you'll live a perfect life, but it will give u purpose. I actually work with a mission group that travels around the world too. So out of the couple 1000s I've shared this message with this is the 2nd. I was just wondering.

I agree with WorshipCity. I grew up in the Baptist church where altar calls were normal. But after 4 years being on the outside looking in I've seen that some altar calls that I used to call normal I now see as being vague, misleading, and emotionally manipulative (I'm not accusing you of that). We had a SYATP rally last year and all the baptist youth pastors were eating out of the speakers hand and I was going, "this isn't right" because of the way he presented the gospel. There was no concrete criterion presented. Basically if your faith doesn't look like "this" then you need to come get right with God. But I think altar calls can be misleading bc kids go back home to the same stuff they had before they went down front. They expect more. |

Sadness isn't necessarily a bad thing. What are they sad about? |
