Student Issues

I am a PHD student and part time student minister and I was wondering if people here could help me out with an assignment.I am gathering information on problems that students are facing today. What I would like you to do is to take a few minutes to answer the three questions below.
1. what are the most significant issues that you see teenagers facing today in any
or all of the following categories?
Media Issues
Generational Issues
Family Issues
Drug and Alcohol Issues
Friendship or or Relationship Issues
Sexuality Issues
Identity and Self Image Issues
Violence and Delinquency Issues
2. Could you cite specific examples?
3. How do they usually deal/work through/handle this issues?

0 Votes 1. Family Issues Sexuality Issues Identity and Self Image Issues 2. I think these 3 are the most prominent because they stem from the main issue-family. In 10 yrs of F/T youth ministry, the most stable kids I've encountered came from stable, Christ-centered homes. The ones with rocky families tended to have more issues of sexuality and self esteem-constantly longing to find love or acceptance in unhealthy friendships or dating relationships. This could eventually lead to media troubles or even drugs or dilenquency, but in my experience it all comes back to the family. Another factor is how sexuality is more pervasive in mainstream media & prime time tv.
