1 day = 1000 years? That's nice. If we change it later we could say that 1 day =1001 years and the end of the world would fall on another date lol. Anyway, a lot of Bible twisting there so I'd take 2 days to talk about it. One would be before showing how know one knows the day or hour (but emphasizing we should live like our current breath is our last). The second day would be after Oct 21 and I'd reclaim that it could have been the last day and push the urgency of us to spread the gospel. Good discussion starter

First off, I'm not a scholar, so I could be wrong. Things like this are great to start a discussion, but I find it hard to believe anything that tries to foretell Christ's return. Jesus himself said "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matt 24:36.)

The argument in the link hinges on a dual meaning of Genesis 7:4, and a literal interpretation of 2nd Peter 3:8. Frankly, I think Peter is talking bout God's sovereign nature over time. We can only experience time in a linear nature, but God exists outside our boundaries of time, because he created time.

Again, I could be wrong, try digging into some commentaries and scripture, let the holy spirit reveal it to you.

I think it is a great open door to engage in conversation. Encourage the good, correct the bad, embrace in love. I would give tons for an opportunity like this in my group.
