I'm currently doing my degree at Briercrest College and Seminary in Caronport Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm doing it all via distance ed and traveling in for modular assignments. You can do your entire degree via distance ed from anywhere in the world.

Their main youth ministry professor is Ken Moser, and he's definitely a guy to listen to and learn from. His book "Changing the World through Effective Youth Ministry" is a great read for anyone and in my opinion should be ranked up there with Doug Field's "Your first two years in youth ministry" as vital books for anyone starting out in Youth Ministry.

The number of Christian colleges offering YM majors has exploded in the last 10 years. Few schools don't offer it as a major. I'll just add the names of a couple others where some of the most respected people in the field teach. Doug Fields and Jim Burns teach at Azusa Pacific in CA. (If I had it to do over again, I would go here, simply because of these two gentlemen!). Duffy Robbins and Tony Campolo are at Eastern in PA. Les Christie is at Dan Jessup in CA. Mark Senter is at Trinity in IL. Len Kageler teaches at Nyack in NY.

There are a lot of great Christian colleges out there, all over the country, many of which have excellent youth ministry programs. I recommend looking through the websites of as many of them as you'd like, try to narrow your search a little bit and request information from a handful that seem to fit what you're looking for. And if possible, try to visit a few of them and ask not only the faculty, but also some students, about the youth min program. You might even be able to sit in on some classes. Most of all, pray thoroughly over the decision and let God lead you. I can list a few schools to look at but does it matter to you what part of the country the school is in? Or are you willing to travel? And does the denom. matter to you at all?

Cornerstone U. in Grand Rapids, MI has a great Youth Min program, I went to their seminary. Fuller Seminary in CA also has a great youth min program, but I'm pretty sure you'd need a bachelor's before you can enroll. Chap Clark & Kara Powell are both there & they're two amazing minds in youth min. And I've known a lot of youth pastors who went to Cedarville in Ohio. I've heard good things about Liberty, Wheaton, Bethel, Spring Arbor & many others too. Google Youth Ministry & see what you find.

I would honestly love to travel go ahead and list them. Thank you so much!
