1. Pool movie party - showed Evan Almighty, played silly games at the pool.
2. Cardboard box maze - Went down to the local shop that sold fridges and freezes and collected 80 or so boxes and made a huge multi-layer maze. Which the young people went through in the dark. Talked about Jesus light of the world
3. Ice-cream and jelly olympics - messy but huge amount of fun. Especially the new olympic event jelly twister. - very slippery game! :)
4. CSI / cluedo night. Find a large house, rope in some parents to play the cluedo characters and then get the kids to run around asking the characters for clues. Get Rev Green to read a lot from the bible before he gives an answer! Incredibly frustrating for the kids, but adds a great element.

Last year we went to our SP's house, he has a pool, so we had a pool party, named the youth group, and laughed at whoever tried to look good playing the Wii fit (balance board). And we have about 15 youth. This year we met at a new youth leader's house, had pizza, and a Mario Kart Wii tournament with prizes (dessert restaurant gift card, itunes cards)

over the past couple of years we've reset our main worship auditorium. pulled all the chairs. booked a state-wide known christian indie band, add an inflatable game, oversized trike race, xbox/halo on lcd projectors and some food. we call it "the launch". its been very successful as a "community event."
