Actually, if you want to struggle with a body of believers, go to a Baptist business meeting. I'm Baptist so I can say that. Dude, look around. What's the need? Does the high school need help? Ask the principal, ball coaches, cafeteria workers, etc. Is your parents in church? If so, what can you all start in the church as an outreach? As far as starting in your church, the Bible never teaches that or to even build a building to start with. Whatever you do, do for the glory of God. When the opportunity arises, make disciples. That, by the way, is our final command from Christ in Matthew 28.

as in start volunteering in a ministry? find a church, invest yourself in the needs of the church. easiest way. the goal is not to check off something to do before college, but to really epxerience what it's like to struggle with a body of believers. and to stretch and grow in your own faith. vitally important. local body is where you should start. everything else should flow from that.
