Yeah, let them connect. If you're unsure about the girl's emotional status with a guy youth pastor (like clinging to him in an unhealthy way), talk with the youth pastor about it ahead of time. If your concerns are valid, maybe the youth pastor would be open to having you or another female in the room with them while they talk (which is usually a good idea anyway).

Talking with the youth pastor is a great way to build trust and a safe place to be open and yourself. He can have some words of wisdom to share with her that friends her own age don't have yet.

Pray for your friend and her family and pray for your youth pastor as he listens to her that GOD will pour out HIS blessings upon them both and she will lean on HIM (CHRIST) for strength!

I think the youth pastor is crucial in a time like this. This isn't one of the most flowery times in the ministry, but it critical. You should let her know that you're there for her and let her not just hear your words, but continue to check in on her from time to time and show her that you continue to care when all the other supporters have forgotten. Always pray for her. The rest of her life obviously won't be the same.

Not sure how you were going to end this but definitely let her connect with the youth pastor...especially if she trusts him. Right now she needs to feel encouragement and comfort from those she knows.

Love on her, be there for her, but don't worry about having the "right" answer for all her questions. Grief is a long process and this is just the beginning. She will want to know she has people in there for the long haul as she deals with this huge loss.

Praying for her and for you today!
