I would STRONGLY encourage anyone desiring to go into the ministry to get theological training. You may not be able to afford a university, but you can do online or find one week modules or just take them a class at a time. Learning is a never ending process, but it is hard to replace theological training with experience and books & magazines.

You don't have to be certified to be an evangelist. Well, I guess it might depend on your denomination. However, anyone with the Holy Spirit in them and a Bible in hand can have a Bible study. As a matter of fact, I've been teaching our youth (about 40 of em) how to thoroughly study the Bible so they can begin their own Bible studies with their friends. No certification needed.
