communication for the good of ministry
i appreciate that i have gifts in the area of video, but have been out of it for so long, that i feel almost scared to enter into it again. that, and i feel limited. i am horrible about remembering to take pictures...and if i did, we don't really have a central locale to display them.
so my question is, how do i, as youth dir. connect the general congregation to what's happening in the area of youth, other than when we are fundraising?
also, how do i excite youth to be involved after they may have "written us off"?
our church has a website, with a youth page, but it isn't "cool" nor does the info change very often...so the youth don't really use it. and the announcements don't always get to everyone. suggestions?

I don't really have gifts in the area of video or multi media either, I also forget to take pictures as well, infact I don't even have camera, so my only alternative is ... oral. Yup the best communication method, for me anyways, is speaking to the congregation and leaders directly and informing them about what's happening with the youth in all areas, give them an update each week if necessary. What I do with those youth that have maybe "written us off", go and speak to them and just invite them to the meetings again, in a positive way. If they listen and attend the meeting you have a chance to get them excited again. |
